Justin Colt has some good work on his site, but this photo diary of his roadtrip is my favorite. Great way to document and share an experience, simple and open to interpretation. More intriguing than, “and here’s me and connie in the world’s smallest telephone booth” or whatever.

I don’t know if it means anything, but I guess it’s one of those projects that looks like it would have been a fun process. It’s meditative and creepy and if I would have done it, I would be showing it to all my pals and feeling proud. The sound it makes is bothersome, but also inherent, and maybe purposeful. Maybe just mute it and listen to some something else.

Which brings me to the “Long Overdue” part. Once I got home, from a great weekend with friends and high from being involved in a completely unexpected and utterly fulfilling creative project, I decided to take it as far as I can go and create a poster for next years Given Getaway, using this image. I redrew the photo, created the file specifically so it could be screen printed, and there it has sat on my computer for two freaking years. Here it is:

Two. Years. Ago. I wanted to make it and share it with my friends as a thank you for conceiving such a fun project and for asking me to be involved. I’m going to get this printed, pronto and finally finish the project. If anybody wants a screen printed poster of Walt and Pat (in the background) recreating one of the creepiest photos ever, let me know, I’ll have a stack of them.

Pretty slick table/chair combo over at Luminaire , simple and impressive, created by industrial designer Sam Hecht, here’s his wikipedia page . Believe what you will on wikipedia, but it says this guy has some pretty heaving hitting design names on his resume. Muji and IDEO to name two. I want to sit in it and set my glass of whatnot next to me and watch people go about their business while listening to headphones. Maybe read a newspaper. Then my back and ass will start to get sore and I’ll get up and go about my business so someone else can sit observe, or carve their name into the table.
